The Freedom Old Home Week Association is hard at work preparing for the OHW Parade. Now is your opportunity to be part of the parade magic! We are looking for groups or individuals to register for the parade.
This year’s theme is “Freedom Is The Place To Be” and after a short hiatus, we will be judging parade entries again this year. There will be 2 different types of voting—in person by a panel of judges and an online, community vote. Volunteer judges will determine the winners in each best in show category before the parade starts. The winners of this portion of the judging will be announced by the emcee during the parade.
Online voting will begin at 10am on parade day and will end at 12pm on Sunday, July 27th. Online voting will be on the Freedom OHW social media pages: Facebook and Instagram; where voters can hit the “like” or heart buttons on these pages to vote for your favorite entry in each category. Winners for the community vote will be announced at the Squeals and Reels event at Camp Calumet on Sunday July 27th.
Those that complete early registration for the parade by July 19th are guaranteed a prime spot within the parade line up and will also be eligible to participate in the “Best in Show” contest. To register early, click the link below to fill out the short form so the parade committee can learn more about your entry and interest in participating in the voting contest.
