LAWN PARTY

The Lawn Party is the traditional and highly-anticipated kick-off to Freedom Old Home Week!  Meet old and new friends over a signature cocktail and delicious apps while enjoying the soothing melodies of local musicians.  Find more information here.

JULY 26 - SATURDAY

LADIES GUILD QUILT SALE

9AM - 1PM

The Freedom Christian Church Ladies Guild Craft Sale is open during Parade Day activities.  Stop by and visit and shop!  Help support a great organization making baby quilts for Memorial Hospital.

PARADE

The parade is a 100+ year old tradition and always one of the highlights of the week....after all, who doesn't love a parade?  Come back to a time when marching bands made your chest thump, clowns made you laugh and antique cars revved their engines.  Young and old, there's a spot for everyone along the parade route!  More parade details here.

Come join us at the South Eaton Meeting House annual luncheon event. Camp Robin Hood is delighted to host and help celebrate Freedom Old Home Week with a "meet-on-the-beach" at the camp!  The Robin Hood staff will greet all guests at the beach as you arrive in your human-powered watercraft of choice (no motor boats, please) where there will be organized beach activities and light refreshments offered.  Come enjoy a summer morning on beautiful Broad Bay!

MAHJONGG TOURNAMENT

9:30AM - 4PM

With tiles clacking, players chatting and laughing, and exclamations of “Two bam!” “Three crack!” and “Four dot!” this is sure to be a fun time!  There is a limit of 24 players. $20 registration fee is payable the day of the tournament and includes snacks and lunch.

THE MISUNDERSTOOD BLACK BEAR

Join Joe Callanan, Wildlife Photographer and Natural History Educator to learn about these beautiful wild animals.  Learn how Black Bears live in a society based on shared food sources.  Hear of the amazing capabilities and adaptations that these animals bring to the wild. You will be amazed!

MARY'S MOUNTAIN HIKE

(NOTE:  Less Difficult)

Meet at Mary's Mountain Trailhead in the Freedom Town Forest for this short, slightly steep, rewarding climb to enjoy a view of Ossipee Lake and environs.  Wear sturdy & comfortable boots/shoes; dress appropriately for the weather, including a sweater that could be donned if it gets chilly and possibly rain gear.  Bring water and perhaps a snack.  Consider sun screen and bug spray.

PROSPECT MOUNTAIN HIKE

9:30AM

(NOTE:  Moderate Difficulty) 

A short but rewarding hike to multiple views of the White Mountains!  Wear sturdy but comfortable boots or shoes, and dress appropriately for the weather, including a sweater that could be donned if it gets chilly and possibly rain gear.  Bring water (at least a liter per person if it is hot) and perhaps a snack.  Consider sun screen and bug spray. Appropriate for hikers conditioned for a moderate level of fitness.

AUGUST 2 - SATURDAY

5K ROAD RACE & KIDS FUN RUN

7:30AM

The Freedom 5K road race is held annually on the last Saturday of Old Home Week.  Serious runners have a USATF certified course, while casual runners and walkers are invited to participate to get their blood flowing on an early Summer morning.  We guarantee all will enjoy the beauty and serenity of the country course!  Registration and more information is available here.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST

PICKLEBALL EVENT

All levels welcome!  Most important requirement is to have FUN! Awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons and a few other “pickle” surprises.
