Lawn Party

a fun kick-off to old home week!

As is tradition, Freedom Old Home Week kicks off the week-long calendar of activities with the Lawn Party ⎻ a social event with food, drink and featuring soothing music by String Equinox.  It's only a small cash donation (per-person) to attend and as a true community event everyone is encouraged to bring an appetizer or dessert.

PLEASE NOTE:  To help ensure a good mix between savory and sweet, we are suggesting the following based on the first letter of your last name:

  • Last Name A-L please bring a dessert
  • Last Name M-Z please bring an appetizer

Come and mingle with old friends, and meet new ones, over a Whiskey Sour, glass of wine or an ice cold non-alchoholic beverage!  See you there!

Please note this is a 21+ event.

signature drink - the whiskey sour

The Whiskey Sour is THE signature drink at this FOHW Kick-Off event!

Ever wonder about its origins? Fun Fact! The Whiskey Sour officially dates back to the 1800s, where on long sea journeys, potable water was scarce, but scurvy was plentiful. Spirits like Whiskey, which blended well with citrus, were often used to combat sailors' thirst and bolster Vitamin C intake.  So come on down and opt for a drink to your health!
